We support modern surgery
The Deutsche Chirurgiestiftung is committed to education and training and to improving the situation of scientists and doctors in the public eye, particularly in relation to the state, universities, healthcare institutions and the media. It also supports appropriate, internationally competitive research and working conditions for scientists, doctors and, in particular, surgeons and surgery-related professions in Germany. It pays particular attention to the next generation of scientists and doctors in order to maintain and expand the field of surgery. It aims to help reduce family-related disadvantages in scientific and/or medical careers.
In order to give doctors, private individuals, healthcare facilities and companies the opportunity to make a solidary, visible and lasting commitment to the strengthening and further development of surgery in science and practice, Prof. Dr mult. Ulrich Joos and MIB GmbH Medizin-Information & Beratung, together with other founding donors, established the German Surgical Foundation as a non-profit funding organisation. The aim of the foundation's funding is to retain the best minds in surgery in Germany in order to regain and consolidate the outstanding position of the past in international competition.
